Being a dental professional can be hard and overwhelming. Not only did you train extensively to be a specialist in your field, with thousands of dollars in educational and practice debt, now you’re expected to run a practice with minimal training on running a profitable business. On top of that you’re in a field that is notorious for embezzlement!  

As I’ve spoken to many dentists and dental specialists I’ve noticed two versions:
 
(1) The practices that are successful have outsourced their financial needs to the experts and have put processes in place to detect embezzlement quickly. 
(2) The practices that are struggling are taking care of their own books and are unaware of how to minimize and detect embezzlement.  These practices are:

• Overwhelmed with doing the bookkeeping themselves in order to save money

• Not having a clear picture of the overall health of their business 

• Dealing with overdraft fees because they’re unaware of their cash flow

• Too trusting of their employees and not implementing detective practices

How do I know this? 

I started my accounting career working for a Big-4 accounting firm, Ernst & Young, and graduated from one of the top accounting programs in the U.S.
I left the corporate world to raise a family, and now as a QB certified Pro Advisor I specialize in working with dental practices owners to get their bookkeeping and accounting sorted so they can focus on doing what they do best.
